Natural building volunteer wanted
Furnace Brook CIC is an arts, innovation and ecology hub where we research and demonstrate models for sustainable living. Our goal is to create a net-zero carbon framework around shelter and the built environment by 2023.
We have gradually been transforming our stunning 15-acre site in recent years, having launched the Lodge and on site craft brewery operations last year our focus is now on getting Batsford Hollow (an expanded off grid retreat space) ready for visitors in summer 2021 by creating additional facilities such as; several natural shelters including the burrow (an underground cob built shelter with tile vaulted roof), compost loo block as well as innovative water and heating systems (for showers & to heat shelters).
Are you interested in; cob, rammed earth, green woodworking, carbon neutral green roofs, willow weaving? If so we’d love to hear from you
